I half thought I had ended up topman, and in acid wash? Retro.

Can they work?

I think you need to go extremely casual with this look.

And maybe throw on one of shutterbugs fab army jackets for good measure!

But, to be honest, I think if you're going to go Bermuda I think you should avoid the denim.

I could do a run down of the Golden Globe dresses but, it would just be the same as we've seen on every other blog: Emma Stone - good. Sarah Jessica Parker - bad.

What did interest me though was Piper Perabo.

Piper, to me, made the single most inspiring and unique choice on the red carpet.

She chose Olivier Theysken.

Theyskens' Theory has never exactly screamed red carpet.

It's cool.

It's quirky.

It could have been a hit.

She did it all wrong.

Firstly, her height

Now, I know there is not much she can do about it but, her stylist should have realised, or at least whoever over at Theyskens' Theory who sent this as an option, should have specified that it should only be given to the 5'10ers, the Blake Livelys and Elle MacPhersons of the world.

She could have remedied her height however...

Which brings me to...

Secondly, her shoes

I know they are Louboutin but that doesn't make them okay.

She should have not worn peep toes. She should have painted her toenails. She should not be DAMAGING LOUBOUTINS by standing on them SIDEWAYS. They should not be silver. They should be at least two inches higher.

The look like glass slippers which brings me to...

Thirdly, her hair

This dress is very urban Cinderella.

Cinderella was blonde.

For this to work you need an Emma Stone or a Jessica Biel. Ginger or brunette.

Jessica Alba wore the Little Mermaid dress. Jessica Alba is not a redhead. THAT is why it worked! Well, it was also a nice dress but, in this instance I'm putting it down to her hair.

I just noticed that cuff.

That too, is wrong.

Maybe that's why the blonde didn't work. The pretty diamonds didn't exactly juxtapose the fairytale gown.

But, there is something even more wrong that her jewellery.

Which brings me to...

She gives Lea Michele a run for her money.

Anyone who watched Live from the Red Carpet on E! will know that, that is saying something.

I spotted this on some random blog. I've decided to add it here as a one stop information station for all things Elle of the Ball!

1. What is your age group?

There were options but, whatevs . As of last March I am 21.

2. Please describe your style in fashion and makeup:

Make-up is quite natural. I'm very much fake tan free. I like a lot of eyeliner and to play around with different lipsticks. Fashion wise, it varies from day to day. I don't have a style 'uniform' I like to play with different looks. I have been told I'm a bit of an Alexa Chung-esque but, I'm putting that down to my keen affection for a Peter Pan collar.

3. Describe the outfit you are wearing or going to wear today:

It's half 4 in the morning so I haven't really thought about it. Yesterday I wore my grey knitwear joggers with my beige Litas, a sheer white t-shirt and a burgundy AA hoody. It was a hangover day :)

4. What makeup are you going to wear?

The usual. MAC concealer and foundation, gel eyeliner. DiorShow mascara. YSL lipstick most likely. A touch of Nars blusher.

5. Describe your favorite shoes, whether you own them or not.

I love all things Jeffery Campbell but, I wouldn't say no to a pair of Alexander McQueen flower heeled boots. Nom.

6. What is your favorite color?

To wear? Black. To look at? Green.

7. Who is your favorite designer?

Charles Anastase

8. What makeup brand is your favorite?

Don't know. I use a lot of MAC but, that's mainly because I couldn't be arsed finding anything else.

9. Who is the best styled celebrity in your opinion?

Celebrity? Toss up between Kate Bosworth, Alexa Chung, Isabel Lucas, Sienna Miller and Olivia Palermo... honourable mention to Nicole Richie and Rachel Bilson.

10. What is your one piece of fashion or beauty advice?

Don't save your best for best.

11. What is your favorite item in your wardrobe?

My vintage fur coat.

Urban Outfitters or Topshop.

13. What is a secret remedy that you use related to beauty or fashion?

Vaseline can be a substitute for highlighter. If you don't have time to iron something before you go out, hang it in the bathroom while you're showering and the steam will do the job! Nothing amazing but, I can't think!

14. What was the worst decade of trends, as related to the fashion?

2000's

15. What style of jeans do you prefer (skinny, bootcut, flared, wide legged, etc)?

Skinny but, I do like the odd wide-leg. Avoid the bootcut like the plague.

I don't know. Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes!

Eyes.

Those big high-tops. In fact, anything that looks remotely like Cher Lloyd would wear it. Also sick to death of bod-con dresses.

Yes. Every and any. Current favourite is LOVE.

Not to look a certain way. I think that the media will allow people to look any different way. As long as that way is skinny.

So, today I bought a ticket for my Graduation Ball.

Never one to shy away from dressing for an occasion, this got me to thinking; gowns.

To me, when I think evening-wear, I think of this...

What I really, consistently, dream of is this, from Chanel Spring 2006 RTW.

The fact that after 5 years I still adore this means that I will track it down to get married in/ hang in my wardrobe and admire.

Unfortunately, my graduation night will not be on par with the Crillon Ball...

Spring/Summer RTW 2011

In a nutshell.

The Looks

Clockwise from left: Antonio Berardi, Cushnie et Ochs, D&G, Rodarte, Gucci, Elie Tahari.

So white is the new black. There literally was barely a collection that didn't devour head to toe white. The Berardi suit is exquisite. Block colouring was popular but, then so was a variable mismatch of deliciously retro prints. Some of them took me right back to playing dress up with my mothers clothes. Elie Tahari championed metallics and luxurious fabrics in fresh colours. That blue look is incredible. D&G went gothic. The anti-summer. Being from Ireland, and a fan of summer black I adored this collection, it was refreshing and interesting. Rodarte was just plain cool. Reminded me of the film The Virgin Suicides for some reason. Fairly obvious Van Gogh inspiration.

All very 90's. There was even a hint of patchwork denim in the Alexander Wang and Charlotte Ronson shows. Patchwork denim always makes me happy.

Hair and Make up

Hair: Sea-washed, stepford wife, loose, low knots, middle partings, sleeked back like Danny Zuko 'Cady will you please tell him his hair looks sexy pushed back', poodle curls and lots of back-combing, candy floss colouring.

Make up: Minimal, smudged liner, bright lips, blonde brows, heavy metallic shadows and glittering gloss, red eyes, the smoky eye is making a comeback also.

Shoes

Burberry Prorsum, Dolce & Gabbana, Jil Sander, Marni, Mary Katrantzou, Michael Kors, Missoni, Oscar de la Renta, Rag and Bone, Rodarte.

Although it is rumoured that the kitten heel is making a comeback, you won't see any of that here. Go high or go home.

Sweet heat and the sweet lies

So I have been an absolute blogging disaster over the last while. I'm hoping to sort things out and get back into some sort of routine now that the job, apartment and general life situation is sorted.

Now is my favourite time of year when it's getting colder and although I love summer clothes, especially this S/S I got stuck in and absolutely devoured tribal. It went to a ridiculous level.

For winter, I want texture. Juxtaposing heavy, cosy materials while keeping the colours bright, and trying, although undoubtedly failing, to avoid black.

Two weeks of Frock Candy and I can't really find that much to complain about!

Best

The first look is pretty. I'm not a huge fan of prints in general but this look has converted me. Love the length and the neckline.

The second look is regal. Other-worldly. Her hair is questionable but it works. The dress is edibly delicious. The craftsmanship is Disney-movie equisite. Gorgeous.

Bodycon done right. Kate Winslet needs to take note. The corset detail is beautiful, as is her jewellery. Klum will be styling it to the grave.

Loving Madge in Vionnet. The sunglasses are a nice touch. Also love that she has someone to carry the train of her dress. The original diva that one.

I'm really loving her casual style. Havn't been overwhelmed by her on the red carpet as of yet but, day to day she looks incredible. Great cardigan and sunglasses love the little hint of fur too. Perfect.

Beyonce does maternity. And looks fitter than almost everyone. Bow down to Queen B.

It wasn't to everyones taste. I've heard comparisons to Morticia Adams thrown around. But, I think this is stunning. Shoes are perfectly subtle and the neckline is exquisite.

My all time favourite Gaga look.

Amazing.

And my favourite Rhianna look for a long while. Her hair is perfect like that.

Nicole and Victoria Beckham are two designers whose clothes are obviously designed with their own style in mind. This House of Harlow and Winter Kate ensemble is very Nicole. I love the bag and her hair is nice change from the boho look she usually favours.

Fair to Middlin'

Things i like: her dress. The fact that her face looks constantly airbrushed and perfect.

Things I don't like: Her shoes with the dress. Cleavage. Her boring straight hair.

I do like the dress but it is a textbook case of the dress wearing her rather than Miley wearing the dress.

Worst

This dress is what I imagine Anna Wintour or Kim Kardashian would consider gym attire. Its contouring does flatter Kate's figure but, she is toned as it is and in this dress her muscles put the Situation to shame. Never wear a dress which looks like it's made from lycra on the red carpet. Not even if you're Lady Gaga.

The detailing is beautiful. Draping gold has a very Cleopatra feel. Exquisite.

Pretty. Simple, and oh so elegant. The colour is good on her and her make up is very complimentary.

Love the shoes. The hemline is odd but the dress is flattering nonetheless.

Classic beauty. Those Isabel Marant boots are my firmly on my wish list although I don't think I would have pared them with this look.

Fair to Middlin'

I like the shoes with the grey but I think the top of this dress is a little stiff and it's all a bit bland. Her hair too. All of this weeks' Fair to Middlin' are a case of bad hair happening to good clothes.

The dress is pretty. Very sheer from the back and I'm not sure about the bow neck. Bad hair.

Ann has been slipping a lot lately. The dress is beautiful I just don't think it's very flattering on her. Shoes were a good choice. Bad hair.

Shoes again are a good choice. She has the most amazing figure and this doesn't do her justice. Bad hair.

You're not grunge. You're in glee. I do like this day dress. Simple blue flats are a good choice. The sunglasses are a nice touch with her hair.

Worst

I like it better when she's crazy.

It's a Marilyn Monroe costume.

I have no idea what happened here. I'm assuming it was some sort of accident.

Daphne Guinness exhibition is going on display at the FIT Museum in New York on the 12th of September.

I am booking my flights now.

It's a must see. Daphne's style and fashion forward ways are incredible. She inspires and dazzles with every unique and uber cool look.

She has curated the exhibition herself so it promises to be absolutely wonderful.

The thoughts of eyeing up the designers and essentially rifling through her wardrobe makes me almost drool.

And the shoes... oh, the shoes.

She definitely got her sisters style. Love the detail on the shirt, perfect jewellery and a nice hint of orange.

Mix of prints and bright colours works on her cute frame. She can pretty much pull anthing off.

Very cool and I actually really like her hair. Simple and clean outfit works with her grunge gruaige.

The ultimate summer in the city look. Laid back, comfortable and fresh. The top is particularly stunning.

Fair to Middlin'

Theres nothing particularly wrong with this look it's just very, very dull.

I like the idea but the stars look a little cheap. Her hair would have been better up or a bit more unkempt.

Worst

Unflattering shorts. The sunglasses and shoes are a little too gimicky. She seems to be going for a kind of Carry On pin-up look but just falls short and that makes it a bit of a disaster.

Lose the white top underneath. The jumper shouldn't really match the shoes. The trousers are an unusual cut and do nothing for her slim legs.

I can only assume the hat is a joke. The rest is so very early 2000's. The shoes are awful.

A little bit in love with this white and brown. Summer perfection.

I think the beauty of this is in the back. That golden metallic is delicious.

She is every inch a princess. Classic, simple and beautiful.

Haven't seen Olivia in quite some time. She remains flawless as ever.

It almost seems like she's trying to hard to be cool but it works nonetheless.

Pretty, age appropriate and darling. Miu Miu is perfect on her.

The red shoes sold this look. The dress is gorgeous but the shoes manage to make it glamorous rather than tacky. Well played.

It's very striking. Armani suits her.

Surprised to see Jessica in Christian Cota. It works though. And I'm a little in love with those shoes.

Just absolutely gorgeous. Her hair is great and the sleeve detail is stunning.

Uh-mazing. Making the Miranda Priestly bow work. I think I quote that film far too much on here.

Love the lipstick with the colour of the dress. The cut is slightly off and boring shoes keep this from being a Best.

I like the bottom. Not a fan of the neckline. Or her hair. Or her make up.

A better shoe and it would look a little less Real Housewives of New Jersey. Nice print though.

It's pretty but too costume-like. You would think she was on a set rather than at an event.

It's just bleugh. Colour doesn't work with her hair. Terrible cut. Nice shoes.

Her hair is for a film so I will forgive that. The dress I cannot afford such leniency. It's also Real Housewives of New Jersey. I would imagine, I should probably watch an episode before making that allegation.

Elle of the Ball's Sage and Wise Festival Advice

Go for block coloured wellies rather than patterned ones as they limit what you can wear.

Bring knee high socks as wellies are no silk slippers.

Batiste Boho is a lifesaver

Don't wear jeans. They're too warm when sunny. Not cosy enough when cold, and heavy when wet.

Babywipes. Toilet roll. A pack of tissues is handy to carry into the venue.

If the weather is nice get your pins out but bring tights for when the rain inevitably rears it's ugly head.

Mouthwash. Bring a 2L bottle for water. You can fill it for free when you get there To brush your teeth. Drink first thing in the morning. Even throw in one of those free sachets of shampoo and use it to wash your hair. Batiste is no Cilit Bang. It'll tackle the grease not the mud.

Put your drink in plastic bottles. And bring plastic cups for spirits or if you'd like to pretend to still be civilised while sitting in mud.

Boxes of wine. Admittedly wait until you're slightly buzzed before trying to stomach it.

Bring a chair. Or an inflatable couch! As good as the line up is sometimes the craic is just around the campsite. Sit back, crack open a can and enjoy the madness.

Don't set up camp near the portaloos. I see people willingly do this at festivals and it just bewilders me.

Print out a timetable. You can buy them on the way in but I think they're like a tenner and we are in a recession. You can find one here. Highlight the bands you want to see so you don't miss out.

A wheelbarrow is handy for throwing everyone's drink into on the way in and carrying everyone's bags on the way home.

Mark your tent with some sort of bright flag to make it easy to find after those late night trips to the portaloos.

Conserve your phone battery for when you get lost after those late night trips to the portaloos.

Antiseptic hand gel. We all bought some during that whole Bird Flu epidemic. Root it out.

Talk to the campers around you. Share a beer bong. You scratch their back they'll scratch yours.

Tinted moisturiser. Mascara. Concealer. Cream blush rather than powder. Chances are it will break. The natural look is best. Eyeliner and lippy can vamp you up if need be!

Cereal bars, m&ms and crisps for sustenance.

Wax before you go. No instant tan. Bring a razor for any prickly bits! Baby wipes will substitute as shaving foam.

Tie a scarf in your hair to keep it looking pretty and hide the mane that lies beneath.

Inflatable mattress for the ultimate glamping experience.

Bring your ticket. Obviously.

Resort 2012

Gucci

Clean lines, metallics, orange hues. Very classic. More demure than I've ever known Gucci to be. The dimensions of the Spring/Summer collection can be seen but generally Gucci have created a new simplicity; a golden simplicity.

Emanuel Ungaro

It's shot beautifully. I adore the make up, particularly in the first all pink look. The use of colour is exquisite. The dresses are gorgeous, although the print was slightly repetitive it is still impressive. The khaki green was not my cup of tea.

The Row

Very quirky and pretty. I preferred the subtle shades and whites to the draped oversized trademark blacks. The Row had been establishing itself as a minimalist brand but this collection marks a move into the delicate playful intricacy.

Emilio Pucci

The bright suits are not just eye-catching they're also some of the most beautifully tailored of the season. The use of colour otherwise is limited to splashes on a black and white canvas. Clean lines with embellished details.

Marc by Marc Jacobs

Love all those rompers. And the shoes. Marc by Marc is always more youthful and playful. This collection does not differ. He has not left a pattern unused and yet creates complete outfits each one different from the next.

J. Mendel

It's feminine grunge. 90's a little bit of Clueless. Thai in the grunge, Cher in the femininity. There's an analogy of J Mendel you probably haven't heard yet! Colour blocking met texture blocking in a new wave of Mendel vision.

Celine

Once again Celine gives us the collection of the season. The camel was combined with hot pink, white platforms and lots of leather. The minimalism of Celine basics were bold in pattern, colour. Bright and bold enough for personality and simple and fluid enough to remain wearable. Collection perfection.

Badgley Mischka

And from the best collection to the worst. The whole thing is so very 2002 Debs meets the love-child of Jane Norman and Japan. Very disappointing.

Acne

It's a perfect mix of androgyny and femininity. Love the dresses and skirts over trousers, gave the collection a playful, childlike quality. The use of colour and material was preppy which juxtaposed the grunge of the denim. Kind of obsessed with the hair.

Lanvin

The clothes come to life. It's decadent and almost exactly the kind of sophistication I envisage when planning what to bring on holiday. Unfortunately Topshop don't stock metallic jumpsuits. Particularly loving the last all white number. Needless to say my future children will be dressed solely in Lanvin.

Rag and Bone

If I had my way I would wear nothing but Rag and Bone. The fur gillet is heavenly. It's the perfect combination of elusive idealism and complete practicality. White maxi skirts with classic jumpers forever.

I now want to live in blue. It's boy meets girl. Occasionally all in the one look. The draping is exquisite. The tailoring equally so. It feels very fresh. Very resort.

Helmut Lang

I. want. those. shoes. They are perfect platforms. Love the texture of the leggings. The urban jungle quality of the collection. It does not scream resort, in fact it doesn't even whisper resort. There's still a lot of outerwear yet they have strayed from the blacks and greys so typical of Lang.

Proenza Schouler

It reminds me of the patchwork denim I used to love back in the day. Warms my heart. Thankfully there is not a scrap of denim so my yearning for patchwork is now sartorial. The use of textiles is almost luscious. Earthy tones and structure are met with slouchy hoods and soft velvets. Beautiful.

DKNY

It's very working girl goes out. Traditional suits with a hint of glamour and embellishments. Day meets nights. Silhouettes are lovely. Capes are b.e.a.utiful.

Carolina Herrera

Maybe I watch too much Gossip Girl but to me this is what everyone should wear while wandering around the Hamptons. It's ladylike, refined, beautiful. It's Charlotte York. Carolina Herrera needs to stop watching New York based sitcoms. Although, if it produces a collection like this, I'll buy her a box set.

Zac Posen

It's so delicious. It feels like a couture collection rather than Resort. Cinched waists and full billowing skirts. Luxurious gowns of gold sequins, sweetheart necklines and chiffon sleeves. It's incredible. I'm in awe.

Blake is promoting away. Looking gorgeous in both. Love the leopard with the blue, the texture of that dress is heavenly.

To perfect the colour block you really need two beauties.

Minus the shades. She's breathtaking. Like the necklace and the shoes.

She's just a knock-out. Seriously, a life sized barbie. Love the top of this jumpsuit but the legs could be tailored slightly better.

Too pretty. She's improved so much in the last few months.

This suit could be tailored slightly better also. I do like the trousers though. Would be a Best if it wasn't navy.

Great shoes. She's so athletic looking it's hard to actually like the clothes with her stance in them. Would prefer it if the top of the shirt dress was more fitted, although I do like the pockets as they are so maybe if the bottom was a bit more A-line. A different belt would have helped.

It's not bad, for Ke$ha it's gorgeous.

Worst

Hoochy, and not in a good way. Hate that coat. Shouldn't have wore the runners, made what is bad, worse.

Princess Kate. She's absolutely tiny isn't she? Gorgeous dress. Elegant and subtly striking.

The shoes make this work. The yellow could be overkill but as an outfit it's perfect.

Lady Gaga won fashion icon of the year. Although deserved, in many ways it's still surprising.

I was delighted to see Prabal Gurung win the Swarkovski award for womenswear. Besting my loves the Olsens, Gurung is thoroughly deserving of the recognition.

And hottie mchot hot Marc Jacobs picked up a Lifetime Achievement award. Smiley face.

Oh btw, thats my new annoying habit. Saying sad face/smiley face/ sceptical face. It started off purely to irritate and has somehow become part of my everyday speech. I'm trying to phase it out I promise. Winky face.

You know when the second look is a full skirt with a fur underskirt, that the collection is a good one.

Antonio Berardi

Classic cuts and styles with modern and often futuristic fabrics. The texture photographs beautifully. The stud work is innovative and unexpected, yet it fits well with the collection as a whole.

Erdem

Apparently the muse for this collection was a scorned artists wife who destroys his paintings and wears them as clothing. The patterns are definitely art like. I would have liked if the entire collection was the splash-work pattern. A lot of love for the last couple of dresses.

Sass and Bide

Kind of strange for Sass and Bide to choose bright colours for Fall. Given that their trademark for the last few years have been heavily studded leather leggings. They're on Australian seasons though, so maybe not that surprising. Adore all of this. The purples and suede. The feather details are beautiful and I would love one of those necklaces. Hint.

Mulberry

It's classic Mulberry. Preppy, English sophistication. Lots of Peter pan collars, duffel coats, full length dresses with pea coats and, of course, handbags.

Julien McDonald

Victorian gothic. I think I have a bit of a preoccupation with that style. Adore it all. Studying Carmilla in college this week and this is exactly what I imagine her to wear. I'm no vampire but, even I would love to dress like this.

My favourite of the three. Beautifully crafted. Really felt like a complete collection. It fitted and moved perfectly. Loved the knitwear and the lack of colour. The black and white allowed the form to speak for itself.

Elliot Atkinson

There was definitely a western hunting influence here. The last suit seemed like a bit of an after thought. The fur accents were well executed. Gorgeous.

Simone Rocha

It's structured in how it's unstructured. Contradictory but makes sense in my head. She pulled apart designs and threw them back together. It works. Preppy and yet glamorous.

Charles Anastase

He is an acquired taste. I have definitely acquired that taste. It was the chunky platforms that first made me fall in lust and the image the collection creates that made me fall in love. You get to know his muse with every collection. I want to be her. It's a little more sexy than the oversized draping of previous seasons. It's well developed and subtle enough to not stray from the Anastase vision. Adore the ivorys, the patchwork and the red velvet jumpsuit was made for me.

Christian Cota

I'm falling more and more in love with Cota with every season. I adore the juxtaposition of structure with texture and print. Rigid suits with velvets, fur and floral. Loose, flowing skirts with deep grey linens.

Rodarte

Beautifully cut. Perfect angles and full skirts. Romantic. The red dress in particular has a very glamorous and charming quality. Same can be said of the gown which wandered through meadows and brought a little bit on to the runway.

Jeremy Laing

It's so cool. So freaking cool. A moonrock dress. I mean seriously, does it get cooler? It's 90's grunge done to absolute perfection.

ADAM

It's very winter in the city. The New York girls wardrobe simply taken and adapted for the colder weather. Layered and perfectly tailored. With a pair of socks, a scarf, some fur or a shawl thrown in. ADAM does not full commit to a harsh winter but takes you gently from the soft femininity of spring into the warm tones of fall.

Diesel Black Gold

Quite utilitarian and military. The suit was taken to a new level with beautiful texture and colour. The aim here seems to be to shield with leather and layering. Intricate and interesting.

Marchesa

I think this is Marchesa's weakest collection for some time. I like the sheer quality and the lace, the ruffles and the texture. It's slightly Victorian, which I love, but it doesn't seem to dedicate to the time and trys to adapt and alter it. This is where Marchesa fails for me.

Rachel Zoe

She's ready to pop but she still puts forward a superb collection. She is evident in every look and as expected the styling is flawless. Very 70's and already snapped up in Bergdorf's. If I was employed I would buy every suit.

Wes Gordon

Glamorous and classic. Beautifully tailored, luxurious fabrics and stunning colour.

The Row

25 pieces were far too few. Adored all of this.

Frank Tell

I loved this collection. The rough animality and the wild chic of it all. The furs are heavenly and the relaxed style of intricate and luxurious is just captivating.

L'Wren Scott

The stand out pieces were the one which stuck to bright colours and clear patterns. Everything else was a little uncommitted and messy.

Monique Lhuillier

The only way to describe this is sexy. Completely alluring. The texture, the dark tones, the lace. The animal print added a lot of vamp. Still true to Lhuillier but moving away from the girlishness of the feminine and into a more sultry ladylike look.

Alexander Wang

Wang toughens the female wardrobe. Oversized coats and large collars combat the elements. Silk and sheer retain the feminine amongst the durable.

Malandrino

Moving into the 70's. Glamorous. Sophisticated. Heavenly colours and patterns. Adore the first look. The French influence, which seems random on paper, corresponds well with the collection as a whole. Loved it.

Theyskens' Theory

An awful lot of trousers. Which I loved. Refreshing after looking through a couple of collections which are just dresses. Very laid back. Thoroughly wearable. Absolutely adored the last dress.

Rag and Bone

70's American sportswear and old British country. An unexpected mix. And maybe it's just because I'm a huge Rag and Bone advocate that to me, this works.

Jason Wu

This collection remained entirely true to the Wu aesthetic. Poise and ladylike elegance just oozed from every piece. What is interesting is in the details. The bow necks. Lace masks. The Use of texture and layered block colour. Another Jason Wu triumph.

Mandy Coon

Severe, stern and harsh were some of the words used to describe this. And yea, it is all of those things. To me though, it's neat grunge. It's the harsh, tough qualities of gothic done in a clean and simple way. I love it.

Derek Lam

The fabrics are definitely the most striking element. The collection is perfectly tailored with playful use of colour. It remains classic, and yet modern and fresh. I'm a little obsessed with the rigid mustard top of the second last dress. Delicious.

Prabal Gurung

Red, blacks, deep pinks dominate a collection of leather, silk and tulle. Opulence is Gurungs forte. He's usually all about structure but this was a bit more free and stripped down than previous collections. Gurung executes this well, he retains his vision in this new phase of design.

Helmut Lang

Loved the pillar skirts. The uneven hems. The silhouettes. The lack of colour. The texture. The boots.

Rebecca Minkoff

The patterns are exquisite. And the jewellery is gorgeous. Unfortunately after the first 10 or so looks things got a little uninteresting. There was a lot of patchwork trousers. Which is nice but after the fourth or so, becomes a little dull. Even the closing garments were not striking or noteworthy. I know it's ready to wear but a collection does have to have a little punch!

Badgley Mischa

It's quite Art Deco and yet early 20th century glamour. Which is my favourite time period. Definitely my favourite New York Collection as a result. There was not a piece I did not love. The leather waist nipping belts are the stuff of my dreams. And a hint of flapper and I am sold.

I loved watching this show. The photos don't do it justice. I adored that colourful suit and how the whole thing felt like a journey through the decades. Sexy, playful and beautiful.

Well hot damn it's a space age safari. Loooove the hats. The shiny material not so much. The use of colour is beautiful. Can't see Anne Hathaway loving this Armani collection though!

I love the necklines, the subtle glamour of it all. The texture is insane. Green fur? Yes please! It's bringing old, classic 19th century feminine beauty into a modern era. I adore it.

I love the styling of this. The belts. I may invest. The velvet dress is gorgeous. As are all the bow details. I would happily live in the last dress. EmmaHeartsFullSkirts.

Golden Globes action.

Kind of unimpressive but there were a few gems.

The entire Glee cast need a stylist.

Best

Anne Hathaway, wow just wow. Finally majorly impressed by Emma Stone. Leighton is elegant and stunning. Clare Danes looks classic, simple and striking.

Hate to say it but Angelina looks amazing. Barely recognised Sandra Bullock but that dress is beautiful. Scarlet is as expected, annoyingly pretty.

Fair to Middlin' Sure

The problem here was mainly that, despite the beautiful dresses, there was just something not quite right. Mila and her Jedward hair reminded me a little of this lady. JLo looked stunning as ever, but I don't know my head was in a mental debate over the shawled top. Olivia Wilde sparkling gown and girl next door hair, why? Zeta Jones, beautiful truly. I just couldn't give it a best. I think that's because it kind of looked like a paper maché project she had her kids do.

Worst

Halle, no. Natalie, why? January, I get the Mad men thing, but that hairstyle with the oh so booby dress? Really? Michelle, my granny would like her tablecloth back.

Xtina, I really like the bottom of that dress but you look like a ho' fo' sho'. When velvet goes bad ladies. Kelly, I really, really don't get it.
