Taking me back to that sweet familiarity

Oh, those bandannas take me back. It's cute, childish, girlie and so much fun. I adore it. With Snow White as inspiration, I'd find it hard not to!

Bottega Veneta

Classic, clean and simple. The last three looks are a triumph. Not exactly my style to a tee but definitely an aesthetic I appreciate. Easy, beautifully tailored and feminine.

Jil Sander

Beautiful silhouettes. Those sunglasses are perfect. Milan is fast becoming my favourite fashion week. Although don't worry I'm still going to give Paris a chance!

Alberta Ferretti

Pretty. So very, very pretty. And classic. Very classic. Quite Jane Austen at times, which is always a winner with me. Dying for one of those hats. J'adore. Very pretty, very Ferretti.

Emilio Pucci

THOSE BOOTS. Boho is back. I love this look. Currently craving fringed trousers.

Blumarine

I did not adore this whole collection. Huge leopard print fan though, so absolutely delighted to see this. It's back baby. We're all going to be one big mass of bohemian leopards.

Gucci

Oh my days. Gucci, you won. I love it. Absolutely perfect. Love, love, love it.

The sweetest of words have the bitterest taste

First off a huge thank you to the beautiful Ciara for ringing me during James Vincent McMorrow at EP. Made missing it a little more bearable.

Anyway, when reflicking through the Fall 2010 pictures on style.com last week, I decided to have a proper look at Dolce and Gabbana. I'm not the biggest fan of the designer. Don't get me wrong they do leopard print and bodice work with the best of them and the couture is always amazing. But, like Roberto Cavalli, there will always be something about Dolce that I find tacky. Perhaps it's all the fake belts and bags that flood the wannabe wags wardrobes. Or perhaps it's that sometimes it just looks like upmarket Japan and Exhibit kind of crap.
Either way I'm not a huge fan.
Which is why I've only noticed these photos now.

My main issue isn't even the fact that there is hardly an ounce of flesh between them. Models are skinny. Got it, accepted, grand. What shocked me is how frail, worn and absolutely exhausted they all look. Like a crowd of corpses on a runway. Maybe this was the intention but, either way, they don't look well. The idea that they are healthy, and all just naturally gifted with powerful metabolisms, cannot possibly be used to explain this. Like I said, they do look thin, but sickly thin.
This isn't beauty. This is just plain wrong.
