Colours and promises

Favourite looks of the last month.
A quick round up of what they have been stylin' while I've been in hidin'

That was a terrible rhyme, I apologise.

You're married to her in your mind

Instead of packing, I've been trying to find inspiration for what to pack.
Ever practical.

knitted shorts, belted fur, buttoned up shirts, pinafores and turbans

You're my army, you're my troops

Golden Globes action.
Kind of unimpressive but there were a few gems.
The entire Glee cast need a stylist.

Best

Anne Hathaway, wow just wow. Finally majorly impressed by Emma Stone. Leighton is elegant and stunning. Clare Danes looks classic, simple and striking.
Hate to say it but Angelina looks amazing. Barely recognised Sandra Bullock but that dress is beautiful. Scarlet is as expected, annoyingly pretty.

Fair to Middlin' Sure

The problem here was mainly that, despite the beautiful dresses, there was just something not quite right. Mila and her Jedward hair reminded me a little of this lady. JLo looked stunning as ever, but I don't know my head was in a mental debate over the shawled top. Olivia Wilde sparkling gown and girl next door hair, why? Zeta Jones, beautiful truly. I just couldn't give it a best. I think that's because it kind of looked like a paper maché project she had her kids do.

Worst

Halle, no. Natalie, why? January, I get the Mad men thing, but that hairstyle with the oh so booby dress? Really? Michelle, my granny would like her tablecloth back.
Xtina, I really like the bottom of that dress but you look like a ho' fo' sho'. When velvet goes bad ladies. Kelly, I really, really don't get it.

Frock Candy - 2010

The ultimate Frock Candy. Oh ya'll ain't never seen no Frock Candy like this.
Best, Fair to Middlin' and Worst stylish ladies of 2010.
As always let me know what you think!

Best

Alexa Chung
I want to find her and make her my bff. We would definitely share clothes...and her boyfriend.
Olivia Palermo
It's almost infuriating how she gets it right everytime.
Caroline Sieber
Became intrigued with her during the Fall shows and obsessed during the Spring/Summer 11 shows. Great personal style.
Models Off Duty
This became a style sensation in its own right. Given a street style preoccupation with these beauties. Casual, high fashion and seemingly effortless, definitely a look to be emulated.
top l-r Natasha Poly, Frida Gustavsson, Anja Rubik, Leigh Lezark
bottom l-r Coco Rocha, Edie Campbell, Chanel Iman, Dree Hemingway
also applies to Jessica Stam, Lou Dillon, Sasha Pivovarova, Freja Beha Erichson and Amber Le Bon.
Abbey Lee Kershaw
Yes, she is also a model off duty. However, she is so definitely a cut above. I adore her. Like actually adore her. She's brave in her choices and has that wonderful ability to carry off a white fur coat with a look of 'oh this old thing? I just threw this on!'
Kate Bosworth
This is the year I fell in love with her.
Gillian Zinser
Quirky and completely cool. Definitely one to watch.
The Voguettes
The pinacle of fashion they are bound to be influential. A little obsessed with Anna.
l-r Carine Roitfeld, Giovanna Battaglia, Anna Del Russo, Emmanuelle Alt
Nicola Roberts
One of the hardest to just choose four looks for. She's amazing. Definitely the coolest and most admirable member of Girls Aloud.

Fair to Middlin' Sure

Jessica Alba
Beautiful, casual simplicity. A few great red carpet moments.
Drew Barrymore
Had some great promotional looks. Never really understood her shoe choices.
Carey Mulligan
Named Harpers Bazaar's Best Dressed. Have to disagree a little. She had a few bumps. And a few too many bad shoe choices.
Rihanna
Kinda fierce. Occasionally over the top. Bit of a Love/Hate relationship with her hair.

Worst

Taylor Momsen
Mess. Really unnecessary to dress like that. You're angst-y, we get it!
Ke$ha
Nope. I do not and will never understand you.
Miley Cyrus
She's a hop skip and a jump away from becoming the new Lindsay Lohan

Lack of visual empathy equates the meaning of L-O-V-E

So, I know everyone goes mental over the H&M collaborations with Fashion Houses.
I've, as of yet, been underwhelmed.
Sure the clothes are nice but, I didn't love the Cavalli. The Williamson was very beachwear. Jimmy Choo was nice, but I think he impressed more because of the fact that I've never been overly taken with the Choo brand and wasn't really expecting to like it. Stella, I did like so perhaps underwhelmed is the wrong word, but in the same way, blown away wouldn't be apt either.
Lanvin though, Lanvin I would buy.

According to other bloggers the menswear section was sound. Therefore no boys have any reasonable excuse not to own that jacket.
Unfortunately, I don't love it quite enough to queue in the freezing cold at all hours to have a scrap in the womenswear over the last yellow one shoulder.
I'd happily attend the 'Haute Couture' auction though. My invite obviously got lost...

The truth is I miss you

Currently obsessing over Karlie Kloss. There is something so conventionally pretty which I find refeshing in a world which finds, the Tyra Banks dubbed 'ugly pretty,' more attractive.
She has a great energy on the runway and makes everything so appealing. Even if it is an absolutely ridiculous ensemble.

She really is incredibly striking. The obsession only began last week when I noticed this photo on Jak&Jil
I mean look! What a ridey ride.

She has great off duty model style. I know they all seem to have a very similar style off the runway but, in my new-found awe, I'm finding that Karlie has an edge. Definite supermodel potential.
