No diggity, I wanna bag it up

The lovely Aisling of ThinkWhatyouLike tagged me in her 'I love your blog' post. And so, college work took a back seat so you could all read random facts about me! Delightful.

Why did you create your blog?

Because I was following so many great blogs and had so many ideas for my own so I just went for it really. Also it was a way to talk about fashion and what I loved without boring my friends to tears anymore!

What kind of blogs do you follow?

Mainly fashion blogs. Street style and personal style but also some which are just general fashion news and reviews! Also follow some personal blogs but only Irish ones because I like the voice behind them. Irish personal blogs are far more entertaining and amusing than most others!

Favourite make-up brand?

Bare Minerals. It’s so light on your skin and the shades are good for my very pale skin.

Favourite clothing brand?

Ohh. We could be here all day. If I go in the in my wildest dreams never going to own ever! I’d have to go with Halston...or Charles Anastase...or Yves Saint Laurent...or Rag and Bone. Realistically, I’m a big Vintage shopper. High street wise, it’s Topshop. And Urban Outfitters. I’m done now. OH! I also love Zara. Ok, now. Done.

Your indispensible make-up product?

Well, Bare Minerals foundation. Dior Show mascara. Bourjois kohl eyeliner. Smashbox primer. And Mac for blush!

Your favourite colour?

For clothes? Black. How goth is that? I just think it’s classic. Aside from that I love a good red.

Your perfume?

Coco by Chanel.

Your favourite film?

I do love Mean Girls purely because I’ve spent the last few years finding ways to quote it in everyday life. Very favourite though? Mmm tricky. Breakfast at Tiffney’s was the beginning of a lifetime love of Audrey. Love Tristan and Isolde because it began a fascination with ancient Irish history. Little Women, because I used to watch it everyday after school. No, ok favourite film, The Little Mermaid. Yes, I am five years old.

What country would you like to visit and why?

In the next couple of years I’m hoping to head to Kenya to volunteer. Aside from there, Thailand, to go elephant back riding and be an absolute lad.

Write a question yourself and answer it: If you could wear one outfit everyday for the rest of your life what would it be?

I know I made up this question but it’s difficult. Probably, a pair of black jeans, the perfect white blouse, a black faux fur coat, a red velvet clutch and black wedges. Simple, yet interesting, classic and appropriate for nearly every occasion. I’m practical...well, kinda.

And to carry on this wondrous procrastination tool I'm tagging...

Always some hope in denial

And now a serious message from our sponsors...

Yep, this is a fashion blog but sometimes, priorities need to be reordered.
Today, we needed to wrap up stylishly, creatively design a poster and take our wedges to the streets to make our voices heard.
Well done to everyone who took part in the protest in Dublin today. And shame on RTE for their inadequate representation of the unhappiness of the Irish people.

A4 paper taking over the guillotine

What I should be doing: Finishing a 3000 word assignment that is due tomorrow.
What I am doing: Procrastinating and trying to get inspired by looking at completely irrelevant editorials on fashiongonerogue and listening to Bon Iver. Nothing to do with Home Rule and Charles Stewart Parnell but, I'm going to repost these in the hope that they are beneficially inspirational for some of you.

If the Scatman can do it brother, so can you

I hurt my knee.
Badly.
I was dancing on a table. I fell of the table. It's my own doing. Well, my sisters really for her absolutely inspired table dancing idea.
It was to this tune.
Which makes me feel slightly better, because, well, we had the craic.

Doc said the bruising will go through all the colours of the rainbow before it heals properly. He gives me a month. Two weeks until I'm not walking with my old school limp swagger.
So far it's been purple, blue, green and now yellow. I'm eagerly anticipating orange.

For me, one of the biggest problems is the fact that, for almost the first time in my life, my desire to wear heels has been beaten. Nothing has ever come between me and my shoes before.
And, given that my knee will be covering the colour spectrum, I only want to wear black shoes. Which are, let's face it, sexy.

It's truly heartbreaking.

I would die for you, my love

I've made this blog decidedly impersonal. Sure, you get my opinion on all things fashionable and musical but, aside from my tastes I've left a lot of me separate from Elle of the Ball so that one day, should someone I know stumble across this blog I don't feel vulnerable and violated, like they've read my diary or gone snooping through my room, or are Edward Cullen listening to my thoughts.
I think it's better to hold on to some sort of anonymity but, lately I think that the reason my favourite blogs are my favourite is because I feel like I know the blogger, like not well but I could say things like 'Oh I could totally see Karla wearing that', or 'that is such achicknamedhermia thing to say!' It's that sense of insight into someone that keeps you coming back to their blog.
So, in the future you may get more glimpses into my life.
Don't be alarmed I'm only twice as strange as I may seem.
On that note, I leave you for the next couple of weeks to do exams, the joys! I'm studying English and History which I love and tolerate respectively. You may remember me saying that I should have been born in a different time, well I've discovered the Elizabethan period is my inner era. I like to read so, ya know lack of tv and internet wouldnt be such a big pain and, I can hold my breath for like an unnatural amount of time so the whole corset thing would be no problemo. Also, I believe my neck is superhumanly strong so could probably have gotten the better of a guillotine, should it have come to that.
Anyway, I was born in the 90's, and so as much fun as the Elizabethan era would have been, I'm kinda glad I didn't miss out on Sonic for the Sega and BN's.
So, I must bid you Adieu until these exams are over, and I've slept properly. Then its summer which means I can pick up a book which is not from a reading list, and sort out my itunes library, and finally learn how to drive, and properly have a go at writing, and be lazy, and go out, and plan a holiday, and update the blog loads!
'Til then!

Little J, along with horrible extensions and a self indulgent 'the world owes me' attitude, also has a song. Although, I can't stand her, the song isn't awful and is growing on me. What do you think of her efforts?
